40 Pakistanis stranded in Syria's troubled spot

Damascus: As many as 40 Pakistani families were stranded in Damascus as the law and order in the situation in the Syrian capital further worsened.

News sources reported on Thursday that at-least 30 people were stuck in the city and demanded Pakistan government to take immediate measures to bring them back as they are facing life threat there. Speaking to the local media, one person said that they have the official letter of Pakistan envoy to get the visa of Lebanon, which was rejected by the country.

They informed that the Pakistan embassy and airport in the city have been closed. Some sources said that the embassy was opened but the staff was not there. It is pertinent to mention here that the way to go to Lebanon from Damascus is only by road.
