BPL 2nd edition auction

Dhaka:Dhaka: Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shahid Afridi and Imran Nazir among top three players who fetched highest bid in the Bangladesh Premier League’s (BPL) auction for the second edition.

Dhaka Gladiators gave the highest bid of the BPL2 of $365,000 for Shakib al-Hasan and purchased ShahidKhan Afridi for $275,000. Imran Nazir received second highest bid of $280,000 from ChittagongKings.    The players’ auction ceremony held at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel. The second edition of the BPL, scheduled to begin from January 17, will have a new team this year with Rangpur Rockets forming the seventh franchisee. Like in the first edition, the majority of foreign players are from Pakistan, with West Indies and England also sending sizeable contingents.
