ECP seeks Rs6 billion for general elections

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan sought six billion rupees for necessary arrangements on the upcoming general elections.

ECP sources said that they have sent a summary to the finance ministry in this regard. Dilating on some of the expenses, they said that the cost of publishing ballot papers is about one billion, while 1.8 billion rupees are required for allowance etc to the staff.
Meanwhile, the deadline to submit proposal regarding the elections ended on Monday. Many parties submitted their suggestions on delimitation of constituencies and voter-lists correction, which did not include MQM.
