Earlier Pakistani Taliban assaulted Bacha Khan international airport late Saturday-night. Five militants were killed during heavy gunfire between security forces and the attackers. Other five militants were killed in search operation of security forces after the attack.
Speaking to the assembly Iftikhar said that blood samples of the terrorists were sent for DNA tests and the reports were expected soon. Iftikhar further said that from the five terrorists involved in the attack on the Airport two were Chechen and three were Pakistani while those other five killed in the gunfight during search operation included one from each Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Dagestan, Uzbekistan and Chechnya.
Iftikhar said that the attackers were highly trained people. It seems that militancy was dying down as trained people are usually used as a last option, said the minister. Speaking regarding the tattoos on the bodies of the terrorists, Iftikhar said that according to religious scholars Islam strictly prohibited paintings on the human body.
