LAHORE: Several areas of the Punjab province continued to receive heavy rainfall that had started on Thursday morning and has resulted in increased cold. | |
The Met Office has predicted more rainfall throughout the day, however, fog is also expected to cover the plain areas. Different parts of the country including Islamabad andRawalpindi received heavy rain on Thursday that has increased the intensity of cold. Snowfall over the hills was also reported on Thursday.
The upper and central parts of Punjab‚Balochistan‚ Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ Kashmir andGilgit-Baltistan also received intermittent rains. The spell of moderate to light rain will continue till Friday morning. Khuzdar also received highest rain of 25 mm while Karachi received 18 mm of rain.
There were also reports of snowfall in Kalaam‚ Malam Jabba Murree and Galiyat. This spell of snowfall is expected to continue till Saturday. Intensity of cold will further increase in upper and central parts of the country during the next two days.
