Zardari announces Rs 5 lack for anti-polio campaign victims

Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari announced Rs 5 lack each for the families of the anti-polio campaigners who were shot dead in the country.

It is to be mentioned here that at least eight health care activists carrying out an anti-polio campaign in the country were killed in separate incidents across Sindh and KhyberPakhtunkhua provinces during last 48 hours. The killings had forced UNICEF and WHO to suspend work on a campaign opposed by the Taliban.
