RPPs Case: SC rejected plea of implementation of court's order

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday rejected a plea to halt hearing of case pertaining to implementation of court’s order in mega rental power corruption case.

A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice IftikharMohammad Choudhry, is hearing the case. During the hearing, DrPervez Hasan – the counsel forNau Dero and Piragab projects, filed a application seeking to stop further hearing of the case. While rejecting the application, Justice Choudhry said that the implementation case is being heard to review the progress made so far against those who were responsible for the massive corruption. He said that at this point of time no application from the government for a review is before the court, adding if the NAB gave a ‘clean chit’ in the case then the court will examine it.
