10 million sold books prove Karachiites literary taste better than Lahoriites: Publishers

Karachi: The head of Paramount publishers Iqbal Saleh Muhammadsays that record sale of books in Karachi International Book Fair (KIBF) showed huge interest of Karachiites towards literature.

Iqbal said that they received much better response of the event in Karachi as compare to Lahore’s. More than ten million books were sold in KIBF, he added.
Nasrullah from Allied publishers Lahore said that people of the port city had greater interest in literature as visitors of all ages were seen during KIBF having books in their hands.
Tahir Sons publishers’ Syed Farhan Zaidi said that the event was too crowded to stand but he was surprised to see people on wheelchairs searching books of their interest.
Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association (PPBA) Chairman Aziz Khalid said that 9th IBF would be arranged from December 5-9 next year.
